Kakariko village from Ocarina of Time would be fantastic. The overall varied look of it, the different details such as the houses, the tower, the windmill, the graveyard with Dampé, cucoos. It would be huge, but so cool to have.

Zelda villains, especially derived from ganondorf will always be an emanation from demise, and who is demise? the previous god and king of the whole current dimension, now occupied by Hylia and her golden goddesses plan to bring peace and development. He loathes this plan, he is a god of violence, domination, and oppression and is obsessed with his dominance, he'll always hate hylia, and therefore Zelda and Hyrule

I'd like a game where Zelda and Link help a good Ganondorf/Gerudo male by trying to prevent him from becoming the new Calamity, with two possible endings: one a la Spirit Tracks (they fail, but after the first stage of the final fight Ganondorf gets rid of the possession and the three of them face the Calamity who has taken over a more willing but weaker vessel), or it turns out that everything that happened to Ganondorf is due to the fact that he is actually the new Spirit Sage and that the Calamity is someone else. I know, I'm basic XD

sympathetic ganon will never happen. in the first place, he was designed by nintendo with a wide variety of features meant to caricature groups clearly considered by the designers to be lesser-- the usage of antisemitic and racist imagery is basically ingrained in his design. all the effort botw did to represent the gerudo more neutrally was retconned when totk made them a mindless lady army for ganon to control again. nintendo has no interest in humanizing this character or creating complex villains and heroes. the intro to ganondorf is a fantasy world where violence against brown bodies and women is necessitated by the plot, and morally justified to the hero youre meant to project on. on that note playable zelda isnt happening either-- since this is a world where the wish fulfillment power fantasy of rescuing a princess from a scary beastlike brown man is considered a critical aspect of the franchise. tldr nintento is too racist and sexist to make a zelda game that fits modern storytelling standards.

The replayability is something I’ve also found to be…sad. I don’t think I’ll ever go back and do a playthrough of the game again (neither would I for BotW). The motivation is just not there when I can just watch someone new experience it through a let’s play or rewatch the story on UA-cam. HOWEVER! I will say that I can see myself going back to play the final fight on occasion.

Could you imagine if Ganondorf in the next game was a positive figure in Links youth and a good friend and brother in arms to his father, and then something happens maybe a disaster forces the kingdom of Hyrule to abandon the Gerudo when they needed it and Ganondorf becoming more and more evil

The next big bad might be Link's father, turned evil, on Ganondorf's (or some other overarching villain's) side, attempting to free/resurrect his master (maybe he believes it's for the better of the people, possible to break the cycle of Heroes, Princesses and Ganondorfs being born into the world, and the chaos the cycle keeps causing...) EDIT) Think of Link getting a "I am the father"-moment

The flag of the monsters (in the Forsaken Fortress or in the dice islands) looks like a subrosian. However, I guess it's more likely to be a Moblin nose. The Shrines in BotW and the Tower of Gods have a lot in common: testing the Hero, have constellations on the walls, raising from the ground/water, is known by the royal family, has a lot of blue and robots/technology. A detail that escaped from kid me, Windfall Island is boat-shaped.

I always thought a game where Zelda, Link and Ganondorf all grew up in a small village together & were almost like those kids from Windfall island in wind waker. Something bad happens to the village and they all get split up all seeking different paths to power. Zelda seeks wisdom & becomes part of the royal family because...She was lost as a baby and found by the village. Link seeks strength in the warrior path (Basically botw esc. but more liner) Ganondorf seeks Power by any means necessary even offering up his body in the end. Sorry for the terrible summary :p

I'd like to see an elderly version of either oot or tp link returning from a long journey to find Hyrule controlled by a mystery villain who has stolen one of the triforce pieces. It needs to have a darker tone and new enemies that would've evolved during Link's absence like maybe a stal-gannondorf as a temple boss.

I want Vaati & Ganondorf to team up for a mainline game. I feel like they could do some really cool things with that

If there is to be more lore, then I would like to see more about the Zonai in particular, I would like to see them revisit the Twilight Realm in some way also. We might not get Midna again, but someone else. Having a supporting companion who you want talk to would be nice to have again, not just there to be the annoying messenger giving you tips on how to do things, but talk about their world and the things going on as well as hints an/or reminders for quests we're on, as well as tracking certain things for your quest. They could just reboot the entire series of Zelda and create a whole new timeline of events, alternate timeline where all the previous games are called the Age of Legends and they call this new timeline the Age of Myths, but still being able to keep Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild world at the start of their timelines instead, or at least Tears of the Kingdom for that matter. I'll be interested to see if they keep the same art style of BotW/TotK's Cell Shading, because it feels like the definitive Zelda look of games for modern era games. Who knows... maybe they'll combine the art style of TotK with Twilight Princess to get a semi-realistic rendition of Link.

I want a Zelda game where relations with Hyrule and the Gerudo are perfect and Ganondorf is a young king who winds up being a father figure to a teen link who is a knight in training at the time and then after a time lapse Ganondorf gets corrupted by the demise curse and link must confront his old master now turned into his greatest enemy

Multiple boss encounters with Ganondorf throughout the game sounds like an awesome idea actually. Maybe even encounters you could lose which would help shape the next encounter? If you don't prepare properly.

I think Tears of the Kingdom just adds a lot of tedious elements to a very good thing Breath of the Wild had going. Upgrading your armor is such a slog, the Depths have just far too much empty or underwhelming space, combat can drag out if the Sages aren’t cooperating with you, there are massive walls of rock that hinder exploration in caves, it’s very much a downgrade of a game in my opinion. SPOILERS To add to that, this is probably the first 3D Zelda with a genuinely pretty mediocre story. The clones leading up to the dungeons are so obviously not Zelda even without learning she’s the Light Dragon, and the cognitive dissonance you feel when you do know makes it even more painful to watch. Why does Sonia even die? Sonia is portrayed as a character a few steps ahead and Zelda has earned the Triforce of Wisdom, yet they moronically lead a fake Zelda alone unguarded with Sonia for no reason. I’ll give it credit, Zelda’s transformation into the Light Dragon was done well, along with the parallelism with Ganondorf doing the same, and displaying sacrifice and the meaning of it. A selfless sacrifice earned Zelda a saved Hyrule, and a selfish sacrifice earned Ganondorf’s downfall. However, beyond that, I think the story just falls short of anything spectacular. In my opinion, it’s still a good game, but it’s hard for me not to call it the worst 3D Zelda.

One thing I would really like to see is another new (main) villain. As much of a staple as Ganondorf has been throughout the series in the Link-Zelda-Ganon(dorf) dynamic, considering the "eternal" curse by Demise, but even with the new creative iterations to his onscreen presence I'm getting a liiiittle bit tired of the name. By now it has become a rather unsurprising "ah sh!t, here we go again" kind of thing...you know, if we already know in advance who we'll be up against except wondering how he looks this time. Either his character could take a backseat role where a new main villain becomes his spiritual successor without merely being a puppet, or someone completely new without any ties to Ganondorf like Majora.

It's been 24 years since Majora's Mask and they should really try to do something akin to dark fantasy again. An adventure outside Hyrule, even if Yoshiaki Koizumi isn't writing it.

Perhaps they were guardians of the depths since the leviathans seemed to be guardians of the skies. As for why their remains are directly above and below one another, my guess is their life forces were connected. So when the leviathans or skeletal creatures died, so did their counterparts. I know that last part seems like a bit of a stretch, but it’s the only in game explanation I can think of for their positions.

I would love a game where the big bad turns out to be Link himself. Not Shadow Link or Dark Link, but the hero himself. Like, he's already saved the kingdom and his new celebrity status goes to his head and he wants more. We could play as Zelda, trying desperately to save her friend...or we could play as a new character that was thought to be a new enemy, just trying to prove they are good after all.

Well, the Dragons inspection was taken from Chinese Story "Journey to the West", if that means anything.

Playing BOTW i felt a connection to the characters other than Link and Zelda. Learning about the Champions was great. There was an emotional attachment to these characters. The dlc even added to this feeling. TOTK i did enjoy learning of Zeldas time in the past, and I loved Sonia and Rauru, but there wasnt enough of them. The sages, both past and present, didnt pull me in like the Champions did. My attachment to the game was “where is Zelda” and later “she better not stay a dragon”. I wanted to know what would happen with her. That was it. It would be hard to replay the game knowing what will happen. I would rather play BOTW and relive those connections with the characters. All that said, both games are incredible. As someone who played the original LoZ when it first released, to see where the franchise is today is amazing. I truly enjoyed TOTK. It never felt like too much or too big. The addition of sky islands, depths and caves gave alot of exploration even if set in the same world as BOTW. The differences in abilities, along with zonia devices and weapon fusing still helped keep the game fresh. I think it just missed slightly with the emotional connection that BOTW had to the characters.

I would like a story with more of a plot twist. I've thrown around the idea of Link already known as the Hero & defending the Royal Family, except that they're false royals (forces of the main evil) & the "princess" isn't actually of the line of the Goddess. They're trying to figure out where the REAL Princess Zelda is so they can destroy her & Link must rescue her & put her on the throne before they capture her & have her executed, eliminating the line forever. Meanwhile, he's branded as a traitor & has to watch out for HIMSELF, not just monsters, but loyal people who were lead astray. He has to move Zelda from area to area as he's able to convince the people that Zelda is the true ruler & then move her out before monsters destroy that area, so as to keep all of the townspeople safe. It could even be where he's only able to convince a small number of people in any area who can hide her for a while, too, building up his forces to break into the castle & put her on the throne & reveal the truth.

I would like to see a whole new world, villian, and Zelda/Link combo. Something completely fresh

The first idea could work like the mechanics in MM. If you go with/aid NPC A then the outcome will be not being to help out NPC B, C, etc. It would give players a bigger incentive to replay the game to get every, yet similar outcome. In reality you can't save/aid everyone so a touch of real life repercussions for your choses could help add to the first person gameplay.

I would like a direct sequel to Twilight Princess where it reuses the overworlds of Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and A Link to the Past. As a story explanation, the destruction of the Mirror of Twilight caused temporal rifts between the three timelines (Child, Adult, and Downfall) within the dungeons. As an example, in the Twilight Princess Forest Temple, there would be doors that connect to the Forbidden Woods from Wind Waker and the Eastern Palace. This would mix up how the dungeons would be explored than in their original games even though the dungeon maps would be the same. For story reasons, the WW Ganon’s Tower wouldn’t be accessible, because it would happen tangentially with Phantom Hourglass. It would also be a momentary split in the Downfall Timeline with A Link to the Past. Over the course of the game, Link has to find a way to repair the Mirror of Twilight to close the rifts so Agahnim wouldn’t cause problems for the Adult and Child Timelines. However, Agahnim has caused trouble already, kidnapping Medli and Makar from the Earth and Wind Temples, and kidnapping Prince Ralis for his ritual to resurrect Ganon (A Link to the Past version). Due to the rifts, however, Link would be able to wield two of the Master Sword in this hypothetical game. Link duel wielding two of the Master Sword would be awesome as an option!

I would like the game to apply dynamic difficulty to the story quests. Using Tears as an example; let’s say you visit the Zora first as part of the story. The sludge wouldn’t have had time to pile up, enemy placements would be fewer and farther between. Now say you visit the Zora last; now the rivers are truly clogged up, enemy encampments are thick on the ground, etc. it would make what order you do the story quests feel like they had more weight rather than say “ok cleared the Rito, now do I wanna move East, South East or West?” Building on your friend-turned-enemy idea, maybe they could be a legacy character like Impa who’s normally an ally but is a villain in this game to really throw off the player. And of course I would LOVE for Zelda to be playable.

I agree, I'd love to have more details on Link's family. The closest we ever got is in the Wind Waker with a sister and a grandma, and in BotW where we know link's father was a knight. I'm someone who really likes seeing family stuff in games, so this is something I'd really like to see.

/s - Gorondia was actually a massive theme park for Gorons. Ofc Ganandorf is the only one allowed to have fun in his kingdom, so he sent Frox to squash it.

The next story Gannondorf needs to be a hooded guide for link helping him out all in order to trick him into the temple with the princess uniting the 3 triforce pieces and warping all 3 of them to the sacred realm where the final fight begins. That way un-cloaked gannondorf can still show up to attack link at various times with the flashbacks before each fight all leading up to the last one

I want to have a Zelda game starring a young Ganondorf from Oot. He could start out playing similarly to Link but with more magic. We can see him go from being a hero of his people to him slowly growing fear and hatred towards Hyrule. His reasons could be that the Hylian Civil War was in full swing his whole life and Hyrule was seen as an oppressive state and colonizers. It could be like an Anakin Skywalker story but fused with Link.

I agree, I would love to see the progressive story of Ganondorf throughout the game. He's been said to be a major tactician but we rarely see it. He needs to start out as working with the Royal family only to become a sort of Agahnim. Link would cross him throughout the game, maybe even thrown into a dungeon at one point during a confrontation. The end would be link and supporters versus Ganondorf and his army in the open hyrule field.
